Our Pastor

Jamie Thompson

For almost 30 years Pastor Jamie has been serving congregations and the community in the greater Twin Cities. He began his career serving as a youth director in the Glen Lake area of Minnetonka and North Minneapolis. He attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul where he completed his internship with a congregation in Marine On St. Croix. He served his first call in Woodbury, Minnesota until 1994 when he was appointed by the Division for Outreach to start a new ministry in the Farmington, Lakeville, area.

Jamie and his wife Sherri live in Farmington, and have two adult children who are members of the church. Hi passions include continuing his education, including pursuing a doctorate degree, and writing in the future. My vision for Lord of Life includes, first, staying faithful and honoring the amazing people of God and the mission and grace, God has brought together at this time, through this ministry. I believe God is forever leading us forward, making God first in many new ways, inviting us to always trust God is leading us in how we will next be asked to further develop our facility and staff. God continues to move us, and to move through us, to grow towards possible ventures which include: 7 Day A Week Worship, Small Group Type Ministry Relationships and Service, After School Ministry, Advancing The Performing Arts, Community Based Recreation Play & Exercise, Community Space To Support The Efforts Of Others, keeping us forever open to exploring and welcoming how The Lord of our life is calling us and blessing us to make God first, through local and global ministry and mission events. I am connected to and committed to our greater community in a variety of settings: Volunteer Police Chaplain for The Farmington Police Department; A Member Of The Farmington School District Trauma Response Team; Member Of The Farmington Ministerial Association; Member Of The St. Paul Area Synod Council; Board Member Of The Trinity Care Center Campus, Farmington; Member Of Local Rotary Club Of Farmington.
