All Saints Sunday - Online Worship - November 7, 2021
vs 1
For all the saints
Who from their labors rest
All who by faith
Before the world confessed
Your name O Jesus
Be forever blest
Alleluia Alleluia
vs 2
You were their rock
Their fortress and their might
You Lord their captain
In the well-fought fight
You in the darkness
Drear their one true light
Alleluia Alleluia
vs 7
But then there breaks
A yet more glorious day
The saints triumphant
Rise in bright array
The King of glory
Passes on his way
Alleluia Alleluia
vs 8
From earth’s wide bounds
From ocean’s farthest coast
Through gates of pearl streams
In the countless host
Singing to Father
Son and Holy Ghost
Alleluia Alleluia
Today, we celebrate with all the saints, God sets us apart to believe and to see anew God’s glory and grace, so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
Friends, our God, The Good Shepherd, is a faithful God. In Christ alone our souls are restored, in forgiveness, in hope, in mission, and in the life to come. Let us take a moment of silence with all the saints to confess our sins and those times we have not trusted God’s glory and grace.
(silence for reflection)
Friends who trust The Good and Faithful Shepherd: The pastures are green again; the waters have been made still. While we were sinners, God made us saints. You are resurrected today! Live anew in God’s glory and grace: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Be a new creation; live as saints right here, right now, trusting how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Friends, Jesus calls us saints, shepherds our hearts, walks with us through the darkest valleys, comforts us, sits with us in the midst of enemies, anoints us to overflowing! As saints, believe and see anew today, the glory and grace of The One who is so very great!
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Saints set apart: Receive anew God’s goodness and mercy, God’s glory and grace. The Spirit is in your midst all the days of your life; you are in the Lord’s house; The Good Shepherd is guarding your life forever. Give thanks, believe, see: “How great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Almighty and loving God, today with all the saints, we thank you and praise you; thanks to your abundant blessings, our true net worth is in your glory and grace alone. By your Holy Spirit, give us faith to believe and to see how great Thou art. By your grace and power and presence, shepherd us, resurrect us, set us apart in forgiveness, salvation and hope, call us by name, send us into the world to make you first. With all the saints, in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wines, of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines strained clear. And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up death forever. Then the Lord God will wipe the tears from all faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. It will be said on that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
(New Revised Standard Version)
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.” And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
Be sure to join us in person for this special music from our new pianist Kyle Dacon!
When Mary came where Jesus was and saw him, she knelt at his feet and said to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, he was greatly disturbed in spirit and deeply moved. He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus began to weep. So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?” Then Jesus, again greatly disturbed, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, already there is a stench because he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
We believe in one God, The Father, The Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of The Father, God from God,
Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one Being with The Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven;
by the power of The Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the
virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of
The Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in The Holy Spirit, The Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from The Father and The Son.
With The Father and The Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
We live in a society where people and products and services constantly try to differentiate themselves from each other. `How is this different from that?’ `What does that one offer, that no one else does?’ `How is that person unique from the others?’ In our reading from John today, Jesus proclaims, `Did I not tell you that if you believe you would see the glory of God?’ On this All Saints’ Sunday, we are blessed to celebrate and proclaim once again that we are “set apart” as saints, to see our net worth is in grace alone, we are made unique and differentiated from the rest of the world by The One who is different from all the others, by The One who is more unique than all the rest, by The Only One who can provide what he offers, by our Brother, by The One set apart for our salvation’s sake. As `all the saints,’ let us celebrate and give thanks, for in Jesus, God is every day, for all eternity, blessing us to believe and to see, we can come forth, we are unbound and let go, we are alive, we are resurrected, we live anew, in God’s glory and grace!
1. As `all the saints’ let us boldly believe and see and trust anew, we live, and we will live forever, thanks to God’s glory and grace!
Isaiah 25:7; Revelation 21:6-7; John 11:40-42
A. As `all the saints’ we live believing we will truly live, we will see and celebrate the complete glory and grace of God still to come!
B. As `all the saints’ even in our preoccupation with heaven, we are invited, graced, to believe and to see, the blessed assurance, the glory of God every day!
C. As `all the saints’ we believe, we see, we live reassured by, comforted by, convicted by, driven by, God’s glory and grace right here, right now! Thanks be to God for all we believe and see here, all around us, in our presence, lives, hearts, spirits!
2. As `all the saints’, believe and see, `resurrection’ is from God, the glory and grace of God!
Isaiah 25:7; Revelation 21:4; John 11:32,40,42-44
A. Boldly believe and see, as Jesus called out to Lazarus, Jesus will forever call you, his saints by name, to “come forth.”
B. Boldly believe and see, as Jesus raised Lazarus, Jesus will raise up all that is down in your life, all that you think it is too late to unbind, to let go of, to resurrect, Jesus gives life to, breathes life into, raises up.
C. Boldly believe and see, God gives more than resuscitation, more than restoration, God resurrects, makes you and all things new, creates new creations, gives you new life!
3. As ‘all the saints’, believe and see, each of us are created, set apart forgiven, saved, anew, to be God’s own, as we give thanks for God’s abundant glory and grace!
Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:1-3,6; John. 11:34-37,40
A. `If you believe, you will see the glory and grace of God’: As Jesus came to Mary and Martha, as others saw Jesus weep, you as his saints will see Jesus come to you, his compassion for you.
B. Clearly see as Jesus saw the saint in others, and defines your net worth in God’s grace alone, as Jesus saw one and all as God’s children, God will open our eyes and hearts to see others as fellow saints, as God’s children, to believe and see, the One who blesses us to call each other brother and sister, calls you, “my brother,” and “my sister,” in glory and grace.
4. “Did I not tell you that if you believe you would see the glory of God!” Thanks be to God, we are God’s very own! We are here and now, for all eternity, set apart, saved, assured, sent, gifted, as `all the saints’ showered with faith to boldly believe, to see, to live anew in the glory and grace of God!
John 11:40

vs 1
When peace like a river
Attendeth my way
When sorrows
Like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot
Thou hast taught me to say
“It is well
It is well
With my soul”
refrain
It is well
(It is well)
With my soul
(With my soul)
It is well
It is well
With my soul
vs 3
My sin – O the bliss
Of this glorious thought
My sin – not in part
But the whole
Is nailed to the cross
And I bear it no more
Praise the Lord
Praise the Lord
O my soul
(refrain)
vs 4
And Lord haste the day
When my faith shall be sight
The clouds be rolled
Back as a scroll
The trumpet shall sound
And the Lord shall descend
Even so –
It is well
With my soul
(refrain)
... As we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Bless us as your saints with your glory and grace.
Almighty God, in Jesus we know the resurrection and the life.
In you, even though we die, we will live, forever.
In you, even though we weep and our hearts are troubled, you give us faith to believe again.
In you, we have a dwelling place prepared by you just for us.
In you, we have the assurance our Savior will come again and bring us home.
In you, we have a Good Shepherd who watches over us and helps us lie down in green pastures and to once again walk by still waters.
In you, we have a rod and a staff which will comfort us in the midst of our darkest valleys in whatever life and death bring our way.
In you, we fear no evil, our cup overflows and we live with you our whole life long, we live in the house of The Lord, now and forever.
In you, we live a new life in The One who forever calls our name.
In you, we share our assurance, our conviction, our joy by telling others.
God of all goodness and every comfort, today as your people, together with all the saints who are set apart and called by name, we give thanks for those who have touched and filled and impacted our lives. We also gather to support one another through your Holy Spirit, as we remember the emptiness and the sorrow and the loss we feel because those we love have died.
Today we remember those servants already commended into your care, those lambs of your own flock received in mercy, those saints resting in light. Today we especially remember:
(names read)
Lord, today we take a moment of silence to share with you others who we remember in our hearts at this time. (silence) Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom pray, trusting in your mercy, through your Son, Jesus Christ; thanking you for blessing us through the lives of others, for blessing us with the gift of life, strengthening us as the people of God, with the life giving treasurers of hope, peace and community; trusting anew you are forever with us as our lives continue.
Amen.
Holy Communion will take place after the closing Benediction. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.
In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.
In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Amen.
Let us pray.
Pour out upon us the spirit of your love, O Lord, and unite the wills of those whom you have fed with one heavenly food; through Jesus Christ, The Lord of life. Amen.
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you believe and see God’s glory and grace along with all the saints. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, and serving the Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!
On Jordan’s stormy banks I stand
And cast a wishful eye
To Canaan’s fair and happy land
Where my possessions lie
All o’er all those wide extended plains
Shines one eternal day
There God the Son forever reigns
And scatters night away
refrain
I am bound I am bound
I am bound for the Promised Land
I am bound I am bound
I am bound for the Promised Land
No chilling winds or poison breath
Can reach that healthful shore
Where sickness sorrow pain and death
Are felt and feared no more
(refrain)
When shall I see that happy place
And be forever blessed
When shall I see my Father’s face
And in His bosom rest
(refrain twice)
