Lenten Midweek Worship - Online Worship - April 6, 2022

Join us on facebook for a pre-recorded Lenten Midweek service!

The Lord almighty grant us a quiet night and peace at the last.

Amen.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

To sing praise to your name, O Most High.

To herald your love in the morning,

And your truth at the close of the day.

Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and one another.

Holy and gracious God, I confess I have sinned against you this day. Some of my sin I know – the thoughts and words and deeds of which I am ashamed – but some is known only to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask for forgiveness. Deliver me, restore me, renew my spirit as I return to the Lord with all my heart, for I am driven to live in your grace in Jesus Christ.

By the mercy of God we are united with Jesus Christ, and in the grace of Christ alone, we are forgiven. We rest now in his peace, and rise each new morning to serve the Lord of life. Let us pray.

Into your hands, O Lord, we commend our spirits. You have redeemed us, in Christ alone. Hear our prayer and listen to our cry which comes before you. Keep us as the apple of your eye, and hide us in the shadow of your wings. In righteousness we will see you, and when we awake, your presence will give us joy. Keep your heart on us, merciful God; be present and protect us through the hours of this night, so we might find rest and truth in the grace of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

He who began a good work in you
He who began a good work in you
Will be faithful to complete it
He’ll be faithful to complete it
He who started the work
Will be faithful to complete it in you

(repeat)

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff – they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

(New Revised Standard Version)

Six days before Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, the home of Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. There they gave a dinner for him. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at the table with him. Mary took a pound of costly perfume made of pure nard, anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped them with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor?” (He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he kept the common purse and used to steal what was put into it.) Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She bought it so that she might keep it for the day of my burial. You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.”

(New Revised Standard Version)

As God’s people, gifted and driven to trust and to call on God’s power and peace and grace in Jesus Christ, let us pray for the needs of all God’s people.

... As we pray to you, Jesus,

The Spirit
Intercedes for us
With sighs too deep
For words to express
Oh oh oh

All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for the sake of Christ who taught us to boldly pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Guard us in our sleeping tonight, O Lord, guide us in our waking, and awaken us that we might be your faithful and devoted disciples as we make you, our God, first in our lives.
Lord, now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled. My own eyes have seen your salvation which you have prepared in the sight of all people; a light to reveal you to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Friends, return to The Lord your God with all your heart! Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, bless you this night and all your days, as you live each day in the grace of Christ alone.
Amen.

My Jesus
My Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My Comfort
My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let ev’ry breath
All that I am
Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You
Forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You
