Today we trust Jesus, Messiah, is alive, we are anew, God’s grace fills our Easter hearts, so we worship The Risen Christ, in the name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is my stronghold; I am not afraid! All I ask is to live in the house of the Lord forever.
Our God in the light and resurrection of Jesus listens to our cry; for he is gracious and merciful. Let us take a moment of silence to share our sins and those times we have failed to trust we are filled with grace in The Risen One who feeds our lives and souls.
(silence for reflection)
Friends of the Savior: When you call on The Lord, he hears you and answers you, filling you and raising you up to live anew in the grace of these words: Jesus, The Risen Christ, saves you, and Jesus, forgives you all your sins. God in Jesus Christ calls you by name! Come, let us eat, for now the feast is spread!
Song of Trust & Gathering

Our Lord’s body let us take together
Thanks be to God, God has not sent us away in anger or cast us off or forsaken us. Let us be filled and raised up to live in grace, believing in God’s goodness, for Jesus is the light of the world!
Friends in faith: Feast on salvation and grace. The Lord calls us as one people to his table. The Risen Christ, is raised to fill our hearts with courage and hope. Come, let us drink; the wine is poured!
vs. 2
Come let us drink for now the wine is poured
Come let us drink for now the wine is poured
Jesus’ blood poured let us drink together
Jesus’ blood poured let us drink together
Loving God, as the celebration of Easter continues, give us Easter hearts, alive and anew, filled with forgiveness and new life; filled with hope and assurance. Come, Lord Jesus, be our host, feed us, and let us eat. By your Holy Spirit, as we celebrate your resurrection, break into our presence, and raise us up to live in your grace, to see you walking with us, and eating with us, each and every day. In The Risen Jesus, we pray. Amen.
The Lesson
Acts 9:1-6
Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
Song of Grace Anew
Children of The Heavenly Father
Sandell, Berg
vs. 1
Children of the heav’nly Father
Safely in his bosom gather
Nestling bird or star in heaven
Such a refuge ne’er was given
vs. 2
God his own doth tend and nourish
In his holy courts they flourish
From all evil things he spares them
In his mighty arms he bears them
vs. 3
Neither life nor death shall ever
From the Lord his children sever
Unto them his grace he showeth
And their sorrows all he knoweth
vs 4
Though he giveth or he taketh
God his children ne’er forsaketh
His the loving purpose solely
To preserve them pure and holy
Gospel
John 21:1-19
After these things, Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias; and he showed himself in this way. Gathered there together were Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the Sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Just after daybreak, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, “Children, you have no fish, have you?” They answered him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish. That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”
When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on some clothes, for he was naked, and he jumped into the sea. But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards off. When they had gone ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, one hundred fifty-three of them; and though there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and he did the same with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” Peter said to Jesus, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.” (Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.) After this Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
Based on Revelation 21:5-7
God’s Son born in a manger, who went forward in obedience to make us all one through his death and resurrection; he will come again. While we wait for Jesus’ return, with Easter hearts, we trust and believe, we are alive and anew, in the grace of The Risen Christ.
God who sits upon the throne says, “Behold, I make all things new. Write these words for they are trustworthy and true. It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain the water of life without payment. They who conquer shall have their heritage, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.” Amen.
Easter Hearts, Filled to Be Alive & Anew
ACTS 9:1-6; REVELATION 5:11-14; JOHN 21:1-19
What do you have an appetite for? What are you hungry for? What satisfies you? What fills you? What are you still craving? When you think of `eating,' do you think of only getting by, a nibble here and there, enough to take the edge off; or do you think of savoring every bite, flavor, substance, enjoyment? Today we hear again of Jesus appearing to his disciples. They are fishing before breakfast. They have worked all night and caught nothing. They are hungry - hungry to call it a night, hungry for a bite, and hungry for Easter hearts. They are hungry to fill their nets and their lives and their hearts, with truth, drive, insight and outlook, calling and vocation, and grace. The Risen Christ appears, providing Easter hearts, making known new cravings, richer flavor, deeper substance, greater enjoyment. As Jesus fed and filled the disciples on the shore, see Jesus breaking into your midst every day, giving you an Easter heart, alive, anew, filled, in The Risen Christ!
1. What do you have an appetite for? What fills you? Your life? Your spirit? What is your Easter heart still craving, what is still empty? What would satisfy you and your Easter heart?
A. What kind of eating habits do you have? Do you eat when you are hungry? Do you graze? Do you try to quiet your cravings? Do you long for substance? Do you know what satisfies? What fills you?
B. What is your Easter heart hungry for? When it comes to your spiritual hunger, do you eat just enough to get by? What gives you substance? What are you still starving for? What do you savor, enjoy? What fills your Easter heart?
John 21:1-6,8
2. Our Savior craves us, is starving for us, is empty without us, longs for our hearts, belief, surrender, love, devotion to satisfy his hunger! As Jesus appeared to his disciples at day break, in the midst of their every day routine, and made himself known as they shared breakfast, trust your Easter heart is alive, anew, and filled, in The Risen Christ!
A. The Risen Christ fills your Easter heart with truth!
Acts 9:5-6
B. The Risen Christ fills your Easter heart with drive!
John 21:7b
C. The Risen Christ fills your Easter heart with insight and outlook!
John 21:7a
D. The Risen Christ fills your Easter heart with calling & vocation!
John 21:15-19
E. The Risen Christ fills your Easter heart with hope and grace!
Revelation 5:12-13; John 21:6,12-14
3. As The Risen Jesus comes into their midst, the disciples’ nets are not only filled, the disciples themselves are filled in a new way. As Jesus fed and filled the disciples on the shore, see The Risen Christ feeding our Easter hearts with grace upon grace; for we are alive, anew, filled, too, for Christ is risen, and risen indeed, Alleluia!

All Who Are Thirsty
Brown/Roberts
All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be wash’d away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep
We sing
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
(repeat entire song)
As we pray to you, living Jesus, ...
Risen Savior, give us Easter hearts, to live anew, in your grace.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Risen Lord and Savior.
Amen.

The Words of Institution
All sing:
We come to the hungry feast
Hungry for a word of peace
To hungry hearts unsatisfied
The love of God is not denied
We come we come to the hungry feast
In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
All sing:
We come to the hungry feast
Hungry for a word of peace
To hungry hearts unsatisfied
The love of God is not denied
We come we come to the hungry feast
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
All sing:
We come to the hungry feast
Hungry for a word of peace
To hungry hearts unsatisfied
The love of God is not denied
We come we come to the hungry feast
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.
