Litany Trusting God’s Faithfulness In Each Breath
based on Psalm 81
Today we take a deep breath in grace and we trust anew, The One who awakes our souls, gets us ready for one thing, gets us ready for our Savior, so we worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. Sing aloud to God who is our strength. Let us shout for joy and raise a new song. May we celebrate and be ready to grow in the love of God each and every day.
People of God: The Lord invites us to follow his voice always, to once again today let him nourish the gift of faith in our lives. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we fail to be ready for the Lord of all life. (silence for reflection) Friends in Christ: Take a deep fresh breath today, and be ready for the grace in these words: Jesus saves, Jesus forgives you all your sins. Trust anew, Jesus is always ready to make us ready, to restore us, to softly and tenderly, call you and me to come home!

See on the portals he’s waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
refrain:
“Come home come home
All who are weary come home”
Earnestly tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling “O sinner come home”
Lord, let us faithfully keep watch for you and pray. As we long for our hearts to know real treasure, keep us ready to center our lives on you alone.
Friends, Jesus is ready to feed you with the finest gifts of bread and wine, water and promise, hope and grace! You are blessed with the wonderful love he has promised! Breathe anew! Come home!

vs. 3
Oh for the wonderful love he has promised
Promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned he has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me
refrain:
“Come home come home
All who are weary come home”
Earnestly tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling “O sinner come home”
Our loving God, you continue to bless us with your perfect promise. Thank you for treasuring us, even when we turn our hearts away from you. Increase our faith as we take each breath in grace. Keep us alert and ready to make you and our neighbors first, that we might glorify you every day, in every way, in every place, as we faithfully live out every good work you begin in each of us. In Jesus’ name, we are ready for you, and we pray. Amen.
Old Testament Lesson
Genesis 15:1-6
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no offspring, and so a servant born in my house is to be my heir.” But the word of the Lord came to him, “This man shall not be your heir; no one but your very own issue shall be your heir.” He brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed the Lord; and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness.

Gospel
Luke 12:32-40
Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit; be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them. If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are those servants. But know this: if the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
As we hear God’s Word, let us take a fresh breath, and boldly speak of all we believe, trusting God’s power and grace in Jesus Christ.
I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the sky can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, great and awesome above all that are around him? O Lord, God of hosts, who is as mighty as you? Blessed be the Lord forever. Amen and Amen.

Take a Breath…Ready For One Thing
GENESIS 15:1-6; HEBREWS 11:1-3; 8-16; LUKE 12:32-40
`Are you ready for anything?’ This question comes our way all the time. With regard to family, home, finances, career, health, future - there are so many demands, questions, so many possible outcomes, it is easy for us to want to get ready for anything. What if we knew the outcome, what if we knew what to expect; would we get ready for the one thing we knew was going to happen? The Word of God today increases our faith and guides us into active mission, proclaiming once again the one thing that will happen: Christ will come, faith will be given, the call will go out. Take a deep breath in grace today, for God makes us ready for one thing: to believe! Jesus will make us ready. He will focus our hearts, let our lights shine, keep us ready for the unexpected hour. Trust Jesus is The One who gives the gift of faith, making you ready for one thing!
1. Take a breath, a deep breath in grace; get your heart ready for one thing!
A. Luke 12:34 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." What draws our hearts away from God? What draws the hearts of disciples, churches, God’s people away from God?
B. Abraham and others got their hearts ready for one thing!
i. The heart of Abraham. Hebrews 11:11 "By faith he received the power of procreation, even though he was too old - and Sarah herself was barren - because he considered him faithful who had promised."
ii. Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." This is the people of Lord of Life!
C. Thanks be to God as you trust God gets your heart ready, drawing you and your heart back to your One Real Treasure!
2. Take a breath, a deep breath in grace; get ready for God to light your lamp, and for your light to shine for one thing!
A. Luke 12:35 - "Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit."
B. A few powerful words for Jesus’ disciples, for God’s churches, for The Lord’s good people:
i. Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
ii. John 15:5 - "I am the vine and you are the branches." "Branches of hope growing together!"
iii. Philippians 1:6 - "I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ."
C. Trust Jesus gets you ready for one thing: Ready for what God is getting ready you for, and what God is getting ready for you!
3. Take a breath, a deep breath in grace; get ready for one thing, stay alert and on the lookout!
A. Luke 12:40 - "You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour."
B. We are being called. Others are wondering, ....What are we getting ready for, what is so important, what matters most, what are we ready to share, to give witness to, to make known?
C. The simple invitation is one thing to be ready to share.
4. Luke 12:32 - "Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Take a deep breath in grace; trust Jesus makes you, your hearts, your lights, your spirit, ready for one thing: To believe, to make God and neighbor first, to then treasure and expect and speak God first, to serve and thank, trust and praise God first!

Song Anew In True Grace
Grace Alone
Nelson & Brown
Ev’ry promise we can make
Ev’ry prayer and step of faith
Ev’ry diff’rence we will make
Is only by His grace
Ev’ry mountain we will climb
Ev’ry ray of hope we shine
Ev’ry blessing left behind
Is only by His grace
Grace alone
Which God supplies
Strength unknown
He will provide
Christ in us
Our Cornerstone
We will go forth
In grace alone
We will go forth
In grace alone
...as we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Breathe on us anew your saving grace.
All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.
In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.
The Words of Institution
In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.
Song During Holy Communion
People Get Ready
Mayfield
vs. 1
People get ready
There’s a train a-comin’
You don’t need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels hummin’
You don’t need no ticket
You just thank the Lord
vs. 2
So people get ready
For the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers
Coast to coast
Faith is the key open
The doors and board them
There’s hope for all among
Those loved the most
refrain:
Thank the Lord
Thank the Lord
Thank the Lord
Ooh
(repeat)
vs. 3
There ain’t no room
For the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind
Just to save his own
Have pity on those
Whose chances grow thinner
For there’s no hiding place
Against the Kingdom’s throne
ending:
Thank the Lord
Thank the Lord
Thank the Lord
Thank the Lord
(repeat 2x)
The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace, this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.
Let us pray.
Pour out upon us the spirit of your love, O Lord, and unite the wills of those whom you have fed with one heavenly food; through Jesus Christ, The Lord of life. Amen.
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you take each breath, each deep fresh breath, in the living grace of Jesus Christ. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, and serving the Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!

One Thing Remains (Your Love Never Fails)
Johnson
vs. 1
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant in the trial and the change
One thing remains
One thing remains
refrain:
Your love never fails it never gives up
Never runs out on me
Your love never fails it never gives up
Never runs out on me
Your love never fails it never gives up
Never runs out on me
Your love
vs. 2
On and on and on and on it goes
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains one thing remains
(refrain)
bridge:
In death in life
I’m confident and covered by the pow’r
Of Your great love
My debt is paid
There’s nothing that can separate my heart
From Your great love
