based on Psalm 25
Today we celebrate the Holy Spirit is so welcome here, gathering us in, affirming new beginnings in one and all, as we confirm our faith and God’s saving grace, so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. The Lord walks paths of steadfast love and faithfulness. He leads the humble in what is right. The Lord will not remember our sins. He remembers us according to his grace and mercy.
People of God: Jesus knows our transgressions; our sins are ever before him. Against Jesus alone have we sinned, yet, The Lord is mindful of his steadfast love. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we have failed to confirm all God is.

Friends in Christ: The Word confirmed through God’s grace for daily living, for our affirmed and transformed lives is this: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment; for we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it; but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. The poor man died and was carried away by angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was being tormented, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side. God’s Son who was born in a manger, who went forward in obedience to make us all one through his death and resurrection; he will come again. While we wait for Jesus’ return, let us speak boldly of all we confirm and affirm and believe.
God who sits upon the throne says, “Behold, I make all things new. Write these words for they are trustworthy and true. It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain the water of life without payment. They who conquer shall have their heritage, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.” Amen.

Opportunities come our way every day. What do you do about them? How do you choose to respond? Which ones do you act on? Which ones do you let pass? What determines what you do? In our spiritual walk, we have opportunities each day as well. What convinces us of God’s presence and promise and power? What calls us to step forward to make a difference? To not walk on by? What clearly points us to God’s path? What causes our ears and our hearts and souls to listen? What compels us to confirm and to affirm our faith? At the heart of Jesus’ words in Luke today, we hear again the call not to wait. As followers, as believers, now is the time, we are to make the most of every day. We must not wait until it is too late to trust God, to be convinced, to make God and our neighbors first. As believers let us trust by the grace of God, every day is a new beginning in the grace of Jesus Christ; God does not wait to make the most of each day, to confirm us, to save us, each and every day!

One reason I believe in God is, because even though He put me through a lot, He made me a better person, a stronger person. Everything He put me through had a lesson. I would not be who I am today, without the up and downs. The journey He put me through made me meet so amazing people. Relationships are very important to me. I rely on my friends; my friends rely on me; just the way I rely on Jesus. He supports me and is there for me and loves me. Jesus matters to me, because I know He’s there for me, to be right by my side. He watches over me. I know I can always talk to Him. I don’t think God punishes you for the bad things that happen to you in your life, instead He helps you through it, and makes you become stronger, and helps you to mature and grow.

Being a follower of Christ to me isn’t just going to church one or two days a week. It is believing He is watching out for us, and that He will forgive us of our mistakes. … It matters to me that Jesus loves me. If I feel alone I can always count on Him to be there and to love me, and not just me, but others too. I greatly appreciate Jesus saves me from my sins, and helps me heal from my mistakes and that He helps others with the same. … I appreciate that Jesus watches over me, protects me, keeps me safe, and that He cares for us all. … I believe that Jesus can change the course of one’s life, and that He helps us be the bigger person in the midst of conflicts, helping us turn away from other forces, keeping my life, and the lives of others, in good care!

When I think about why I am a Christian I think about how Jesus died to forgive our sins and, how, if someone can put themselves before others as much Jesus did, then I should try to do the same as well for others. It makes me want to become a better person for myself, the other people I surround myself with, my family, and most importantly for Jesus. Jesus loving me and saving me means that he is selfless, and that he puts others before himself, which I think is a good lesson for life in general. We can all learn to put others first and to be more selfless. To me, I believe Jesus loving and saving me also means that he will love me through my mistakes, and through my hard times, and guide me to do what is right throughout my whole life without a doubt. … Jesus guides me on a personal level and others to be better people, and to accept our imperfect selves and to accept our imperfections.

Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.
In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.
