Litany of Renewal in Grace Alone in Jesus Christ
based on Psalm 51
Today as we share our Lenten journey, we pray to be alive and anew thanks to God’s glory in grace alone, so we worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, forgive me. Renew my heart, wash me and cleanse me in your grace alone, I pray.
Dear People of God: The Lord knows our transgressions, and our sin is ever before him. We have sinned against God alone. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we have failed to glorify Christ, to be his faithful followers.
(silence for reflection)
Dear friends: The Lord has created in you a clean heart. He alone has renewed you, and put a new and right spirit in you. Surrender your worry and guilt, empty yourself of all that consumes you. Receive the steadfast love of the Lord in the grace of these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Be alive and anew! Glorify the Lord in your life; the grace of the Lord endures forever!

vs. 1
In my life Lord
Be glorified
Be glorified
In my life Lord
Be glorified today
Cast me not away from thy presence, take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation! Fill me with a new and willing spirit, and I will forever glorify you first.
Friends in Christ: The Lord longs to glorify you, making you whiter than snow. Grace endures, bringing God’s people together. God is glorified through His grace present in His Church and in His people!

In Your Church Lord
Be glorified today
Spare my life, O God of my salvation. My tongue sings aloud the praise of deliverance. O Lord open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth your praise, and glorify your name.
People of faith: The Lord has no delight in sacrifice. The sacrifice acceptable to The Christ, is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart. Glorify God’s grace alone forever in your clean heart!

In my heart Lord

Almighty and loving God, through your faithfulness, you broke into our troubled world through the life, death and resurrection of your Son. In our weakness, we have failed to be faithful to you, to glorify you, and to surrender to you. By your Holy Spirit, increase our faith, this Lenten season, to believe we are alive and anew in your grace alone. Create in us clean hearts, renew us and fill us, for the hour has come, the time is forever now, to glorify you, for you alone are holy. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Children are invited to attend Faith Quest!
Old Testament Lesson
Jeremiah 31:31–34
The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt – a covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
(New Revised Standard Version)
New Testament Lesson
Hebrews 5:5–10
So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submissions. Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered; and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

Gospel
John 12:20–33
Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor. Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say – “Father, save me from this hour”? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father; glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not for mine. Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die.
(New Revised Standard Version)
Based On Psalm 116:1-11
I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
Therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;
The pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I beseech thee, save my life!”
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.
The Lord preserves the simple;
When I was brought low, he saved me.
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For you have delivered my soul from death,
My eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling
I walk before the Lord in the land of the living. I kept my faith,
Even when I said, “I am greatly afflicted”;
Even when I said in fear, “No one can be trusted.” Amen.
Glorified in Grace Alone!
JEREMIAH 31:31-34; HEBREWS 5:5-10; JOHN 12:20-33
We live in a world of high expectations. Many things are expected of us - home and work and family. We in turn have high expectations of others. Part of our expectation is hard work, commitment and loyalty will be rewarded and recognized. We appreciate being appreciated. So do those around us. So does God! How are you at making God and our neighbors first? How are you at giving God the glory? Do you have high expectations of God? Do you believe God exceeds your expectations? Do you know God has high expectations of you? To meet our expectations, to meet God’s expectations, to glorify the grace of God, Christ came to save us. As you glorify God and praise his holy name, trust you are alive and anew, lifted up, glorified with the gift of salvation, glorified in grace alone!
1. To glorify God, to glorify The Christ, is to give praise and honor for God’s grace alone!
Jeremiah 31:32-33
John 12:25-27
A. We live in a world that craves and invites us to seek out and to hunger for our own praise and honor.
B. Humility, making God and others and our neighbors first, is honorable. Being humble glorifies God. God expects the glory!
C. Lifting up God’s grace alone, surrendering to God’s grace alone, proclaiming God’s grace alone, gives God glory!
2. In praising God, we are to glorify the One who is already glorified, to glorify The Christ, The One glorified in grace alone!
Jeremiah 31:33-34
John 12:28
A. We glorify God and what God has done, when we glorify The Christ, and when we lift up and glorify others.
i. Unless a grain of wheat falls and dies, it remains a single grain, but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
John 12:24
ii. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life will keep it for eternal life.
John 12:25
B. We glorify God and what God has done, when we tell others how The Christ is glorified through all God does in grace alone.
i. Others are wanting to see Jesus. Others are hearing the voice, and they want to know more.
John 12:21
ii. No longer shall they say to each other, "Know the Lord," for they will all know me.
Jeremiah 31:34
3. John 12:32 - Jesus comes to be lifted up to draw all people to himself in salvation, to glorify us and to lift us up out from judgment. In God’s grace alone, let us glorify God and all that is already glorified. Trust God is truly glorified, saving us in the grace of Jesus Christ!

Song Anew In Glory & Grace
All Who Are Thirsty
Brown/Roberts
All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be wash’d away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep
We sing
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
(repeat entire song)
... as we pray to you, Jesus,
Lord listen to your children praying
Lord send your Spirit in this place
Lord listen to your children praying
Send us love send us power send us grace
All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.
For those worshiping with us in person, we receive communion through intinction; that is, you will receive the bread, the host, then dip into the glass of choice, either a red wine in the chalice closest to the host, or in a light colored non-alcoholic grape juice. All are welcome.
We also offer gluten free and pre-packaged options. Please take these options before arriving at the host to receive a blessing.
The Words of Institution
In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.
Let us pray.
Almighty God, you gave your Son both as a sacrifice for sin and a model of the godly life. Enable us to receive him always with thanksgiving, and to conform our hearts, and our lives to his, through Jesus Christ, the Lord of life. Amen.
Friends, return to The Lord your God with all your heart; be alive and anew in God’s grace alone! The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Johnson
vs. 1
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant in the trial and the change
One thing remains
One thing remains
refrain:
Your love never fails
It never gives up
Never runs out on me
Your love never fails
It never gives up
Never runs out on me
Your love never fails

On and on and on and on it goes
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains one thing remains

bridge:
In death
In life
I’m confident
And covered by
The pow’r
Of Your great love

Is paid
There’s nothing
That can
Separate my heart
From Your great love
