On the twelfth day of Christmas,
My true love gave me to me;

Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,

Five golden rings,

Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God.
— John 1:1

The Word, The Sign, God's grace, were there at the beginning, there on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, here on The Twelfth Day Of Christmas, in a new year, each new day, forever!

The Gift was given so The Gift would never end. The Promise was given so The Promise would be fulfilled. The Sign of God's grace came forth, so Grace would always be.

This is the truth about Christmas. This is the truth about Christ. This is the truth about Grace. God's faithfulness, his mercy, his grace is not given only to have it soon be gone. If this were the case, this would not be grace.

On this Twelfth Day of Christmas, keep opening, keep celebrating, keep living, keep believing in each and every sign, in every new sign, of God's grace!

Let us pray: Christ Child, keep blessing me I pray. Christmas was only twelve days ago, and yet it feels like so much longer. Things are getting put away. Do not let me put you away. By your Holy Spirit, do not allow me to pack away the signs of your grace. Only by your grace, am I assured of The Word, here and now. Only by your grace, am I assured The Gift will never end, The Promise will be fulfilled, Grace will always be. May every day not simply be another day after Christmas, but another day of Christmas, another day living and believing in the grace of Christ. In Jesus' name, who is now and forever, who is without end, who will forever be, I pray. Amen.
