The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am his,
And he is mine forever.

And so, through all the length of days,
Thy goodness faileth never.
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise,
Within thy house forever.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”
— Luke 23:34a
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
— Luke 23:43
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour, the disciple took her into his own home.
— John 19:26-27
And about three o’clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
— Matthew 27:46
After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said (in order to fulfill the scriptures), “I thirst.”
— John 19:28
When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
— John 19:30
Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.
— Luke 23:46

In this world of ours, it is not always easy to focus 100% on others, even loved ones, when they are talking to us. We miss so much of what others are telling us and saying to us, yes, even those we love most.

Take time this week to listen to the Lord of your life. Listen 100% to Jesus Christ, to all your Savior is saying to you and the world, even from the cross. If you are distracted, if you find yourself torn this week by many demands, if voice upon voice seems to be speaking to you in the details of this week; quietly, patiently, completely, listen to The King of Love 100%, whose goodness faileth never, and be blessed with life in God's grace alone - life here and now, and in thy house forever!

Let us pray: Jesus, today I am ready to listen to you 100% above the many other voices. Too often, even this week, I do not listen to you. I do not hear all you are saying. Send your Holy Spirit to me as my Holy Week journey continues, that I may listen to you, Jesus, my Savior, to Your Seven Last Words; that I would listen in a new and complete way to all you are saying to me in the grace of your crucifixion and resurrection. In your name I listen completely to you, the One who comes speaking 100% total grace. Amen.
