Light one candle to watch for Messiah
Let the light banish darkness
He shall bring salvation to Israel
God fulfills the promise
“In days to come, the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; all nations shall stream to it. ”
In this first week of Advent, we light the first candle, The Prophecy Candle. This is a good time of year to think about the prophets in your life. Who told you The Story? Who told you about Christmas? Who told you not just about Santa and the sleigh and the spirit of giving; but who told you about Christmas, a babe, a Savior who would save the people from their sins; who told you about The Giver of the best gifts?
Now think about who God is sending you to go and tell The Story, The Promise, The Prophecy, tidings of comfort and joy to; who is God sending you to tell all about The Christ in Christmas?
Let us pray: God who fulfills the promise, today I tell you I still have questions about prophecies fulfilled and the anticipation of your promised return. Thank you for the faithful prophets and messengers you have sent to me. Send me out with tidings of comfort and joy, to tell others The Prophecy, The Promise, The Light that banishes darkness, The Gift of Christmas. In your name I prophesy and I pray. Amen.
