I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back
No turning back

“Why should it be said among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” Then the Lord became jealous for his land, and had pity on his people.
— Joel 2:17b-18

Turning points. Do you have some in your life?

Long ago, God used the prophet Joel to announce a turning point. Where people had been involved in one way of living, God used Joel to announce a change, a turning point.

In doing so, God announces a turning point in God's way of doing things. God had made it clear; destruction was on the horizon. Joel asks God to consider again his gifts of grace and mercy. God keeps his heart on God's people, and restores peace. He showers the people with grace and hope.

Turning points. Do you believe God keeps his heart on you, to grace you, to be at the center of such moments in time? Do you believe, God in sending Jesus to die and rise creates the biggest turning point, so we never turn back? In Jesus, God reveals to us peace and grace in this turning point: The Lord would have pity, and never again would people ask, "Where is their God?"

Let us pray: Jesus, keep your heart on me, continue to grant me and my spiritual life turning points, to follow you, and to make you first. By your Spirit and grace, strengthened by you, restored in your peace, I will never turn back. In Christ alone, your grace has turned my soul from certain destruction to salvation, to promise, to hope, to peace, real peace. In your name I turn to you and I never turn back, as I pray. Amen.
