The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven.”
— Matthew 21:9
Pilate said to them, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” All of them said, “Let him be crucified!”
— Matthew 27:22

'How did that happen?' 'Did I miss something?'

Some things can change so quickly: People shouting 'Hosanna' next cry 'crucify;' You and I from wanting to be so faithful, from making God and others first, to making mistakes, we get confused, and do not always follow through. One minute we can be seen praising God, and the next we might be heard questioning or doubting Jesus. We can quickly move from keeping our heart on Jesus, to allowing our heart to stray.

This week reminds us things can change quickly. Our loyalty can be Peter-like, and yet, thanks to The One who keeps his heart on us, grace changes each of us and the world!

Celebrate and trust God's grace never changes, so God can change everything: in a Holy Week's time, in a 3 day period, on the cross, in a new dawn, in the twinkling of an eye, in every Holy Spirit-split-second, thanks to grace in Christ alone!

When you think you have changed so many times, there is no way God should keep his heart on you, that there is no way God can count on you, that there is no way for you to trust God's life changing grace in Christ alone .....

Let God change you this week! Let God's grace change you again this most amazing and blessed week!

Let us pray: Jesus, change me by your grace. I do not always lift up your name, my heart is not always full of praise, I do not always make you first. Faithful and unchanging God, please hear my confession, for I am sorry, and I truly want you to change my life and my heart in a Holy Spirit-split-second. Keep your heart on me, and keep me faithful and loyal this week by your grace. Your grace forever deserves my shouts of praise. In your life-changing grace, I am changed as I shout Hosanna and pray. Amen.
