Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Lemmel

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth
Will grow strangely dim
In the light
Of his glory and grace

But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ - by grace you have been saved.
— Ephesians 2:4-5

Do you have enough of everything? Enough love? Enough forgiveness? Enough grace? Enough everlasting life? Enough power? Do you know where to get more? Here is a clue, if you answered this last question with a "no" or with any hesitancy. - look at the verse above!

Oh, you think you know where to look, you just are not 100% sure. That may be different. No - not really. Look at the verse above. Turn your eyes to today's song, too; turn your eyes to Jesus!

Remember the great parable of Jesus telling his followers about faith the size of a mustard seed? Remember the great parable of compassion that started our week? We are blessed by God's grace to discover again 1% faith beats 99% doubt, question, uncertainty, every time for all time.

As we turn our eyes to Jesus, we see The One who keeps his compassionate heart on us is rich in mercy, This One has so much of everything for us, so much grace for us, that when we had nothing, when we were dead through our trespasses, we still had enough of everything; we were made alive in Christ alone!

Indeed, even 1% of faith for those who believe in Jesus, even 1%, even though they die, they will live, and everyone who believes will never die. Do you believe this - even 1%? If so, you already know you have more than enough for all eternity. If not, simply allow The Spirit to do what The Spirit has done and will continue to do: To turn your eyes upon Jesus!

Let us pray: Jesus, I am easily unsatisfied. I often fear my doubt outweighs my faith. Indeed, all I have comes from you. By your Holy Spirit and the richness of your mercy, keep your heart on me, turn my eyes to you, trusting even a little faith given to me by your Holy Spirit is more than enough. By your compassion and grace in Christ alone, I believe again all I have, all that is certain. In your name I have all I need and so much more as I pray. Amen.
