Gathering In Glory & Grace

Hear Our Praises

Morgan

vs.1
May our homes be filled with dancing
May our streets be filled with joy
May injustice bow to Jesus
As the people turn to pray

refrain:
From the mountains
To the valleys
Hear our praises
Rise to You
From the heavens
To the nations
Hear our singing
Fill the air

vs.2
May Your light shine in the darkness
As we walk before the cross
May Your glory fill the whole earth
As the water o’er seas

(refrain twice)

Litany Trusting God’s Grace Blesses Us to Be a Blessing

based on Psalm 145

Today we celebrate, we sing all our praises to, and boldly trust anew in The Persistent One, who graces us and blesses us to be a blessing, from the mountains to the valleys, so we worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.

Amen. I will bless you, my God and King, I will bless your name forever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. Every generation shall declare your mighty acts.

Friends, our God is majestic; his works are filled with wonder and splendor. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and to share the times we have failed to persistently and to faithfully call on, and to trust in, the persistent and faithful grace of our God.

(silence for reflection)

Friends of our loving Lord: Today we call on the persistent grace of our Savior, and we trust we are blessed to be a blessing in these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. May we persistently call anew and come to, The One who invites us to come, just as we are!

Song of Grace Anew

Just As I Am, Without One Plea

Elliott & Bradbury

vs. 1
Just as I am without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bidd’st me come to thee
O Lamb of God I come I come

The Lord upholds all who are falling, and he raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, O Lord. As we share a most special anniversary today, open our hearts and spirits again today; hear our praises and our prayers, as we come to you, just as we are!

Friends in faith: The Lord is our song; the Lord is persistent and faithful, hearing our every cry, saving each one of us. As we share this most blessed day and anniversary, all our days, may we trust anew The One who comes to us first; The One who receives us, welcomes, pardons, cleanses, and relieves us, one and all!

Song of Grace Anew

Just As I Am, Without One Plea

Elliott & Bradbury

vs. 5
Just as I am thou wilt receive
Wilt welcome pardon cleanse relieve
Because thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God I come I come

Loving God, you provide all we need, and so, by your Spirit, we persistently come to you, just as we are, and we trust anew in you. As you bless us to be blessing, we trust you and your persistent faithfulness.  As we celebrate a most blessed anniversary today, help us believe anew, then stir us up, to be persistent in new ways as you daily move us and guide us, to grow in our mission, passion, purpose, generosity, ministry, service, discipleship, and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Old Testament Lesson

Genesis 32:22-31

The same night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maids, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. He took them and sent them across the stream, and likewise everything that he had. Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he struck him on the hip socket; and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. Then he said, “Let me go, for the day is breaking.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go, unless you bless me.” So he said to him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” Then the man said, “You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked him, “Please tell me your name.” But he said, “Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life is preserved.” The sun rose upon him as he passed Penuel, limping because of his hip.

New Testament Lesson

2 Timothy 3:14-4:5

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.  ... In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.

(New Revised Standard Version)

Gospel

Luke 18:1-8

Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my opponent.’ For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

(New Revised Standard Version)

As God’s children, we trust God the good steward, in God’s grace, loves us first, and blesses us to be a blessing. In thanks to God’s faithfulness, countless blessings, and all God entrusts into our care, by The Holy Spirit, we boldly state our faith.

God who sits upon the throne says, “Behold, I make all things new. Write these words for they are trustworthy and true. It is done! I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain the water of life without payment. They who conquer shall have their heritage, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.” Amen.

...as we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Bless us to be a blessing, in your power and hope and grace.

All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.

In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.

The Words of Institution

In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Songs During Holy Communion

All Who Are Thirsty

Brown & Robertson

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be wash’d away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep We sing

Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come

(repeat entire song)

Songs During Holy Communion

Better Is One Day

Redman

vs. 1
How lovely is
Your dwelling place
O Lord almighty
My soul doth long
And even faints for You
For here my heart
Is satisfied
Within Your presence
I sing beneath
The shadow of Your wings

refrain:
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

bridge:
My heart and flesh cry out
To You the living God
Your Spirit’s water to my soul
I’ve tasted and I’ve seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You

(refrain 2x)

Than thousands elsewhere

The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace, this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.

Let us pray.
Almighty God, you gave your Son both as a sacrifice for sin and a model of the godly life. Enable us to receive him always with thanksgiving, and to conform our lives to his, through Jesus Christ, the Lord of life. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you trust you are blessed to be a blessing in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, and serving the Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!
