Litany Trusting God’s Grace Blesses Us to Be a Blessing
based on Psalm 34
Today we celebrate we are blessed to be a blessing, Jesus Messiah, The Lord of all, our Savior, is here for us, calling, O sinner come home, so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. I will bless the Lord at all times; and I will praise his name. My soul makes its boast in the Lord. May we all be humbled and listen, that we might rejoice!
People of God: Look to the Lord and be radiant, so your faces shall never be ashamed. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we have failed to honor and trust God who is here for us with grace upon grace.
(silence for reflection)
Friends in Christ, trust you are blessed to be a blessing as you hear the joy, the power, the mercy, the hope, the new life in these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. The Lord has answered you and delivered you. Let us come home, and magnify the name of the Lord forever!Song of Grace Anew

New Testament Lesson
2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18
As for me, I am already being poured out as libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing...At my first defense no one came to my support, but all deserted me. May it not be counted against them! But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
(New Revised Standard Version)
Song of Truth & Grace Anew
This Is My Father’s World
Babcock/Sheppard
vs. 1
This is my Father’s world
And to my list’ning ears
All nature sings
And round me rings
The music of the spheres
This is my Father’s world
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees
Of skies and seas
His hand the wonders wrought
vs. 2
This is my Father’s world
The birds their carols raise
The morning light
The lily white
Declare their maker’s praise
This is my Father’s world
He shines in all that’s fair
In the rustling grass
I hear him pass
He speaks to me ev’rywhere
vs. 3
This is my Father’s world
Oh let me not forget
That though the wrong
Seems oft so strong
God is the ruler yet
This is my Father’s world
Why should my heart be sad
The Lord is King
Let the heavens ring
God reigns let the earth be glad
Gospel
Luke 18:9-14
Jesus also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and regarded others with contempt: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, `God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of all my income.' But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, `God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this one went down to his home justified rather than the other; for all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted."
(New Revised Standard Version)
As God’s children, we trust God the good steward, in God’s grace, loves us first, and blesses us to be a blessing. In thanks to God’s faithfulness, countless blessings, and all God entrusts into our care, by The Holy Spirit, we boldly state our faith.
God who sits upon the throne says, “Behold, I make all things new. Write these words for they are trustworthy and true. It is done! I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain the water of life without payment. They who conquer shall have their heritage, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.” Amen.
Who Is Here For Who?
JEREMIAH 14:7-10,19-22; II TIMOTHY 4:6-8,16-18; LUKE 18:9-14
Chances are you know what it is like when someone is not really in the moment with you. Someone says they are listening, being honest, saying they are not just in it for themself, but are they? You can tell when someone is here for you, and when that is only what they are saying, as their actions make it clear they are not here for anyone but themselves. Just as real, can be times when we do not believe someone else, not to mention our God, is really here for us; caring for us, helping us, talking to us, saving us. Today Jesus tells us the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. Jesus uses this parable to tell us how to pray and how to really be here for Christ. The Pharisee is here not to pray, but to glorify himself. The tax collector is here for The Christ, for The Christ to restore him, to trust The Christ is here for him. As you are here for The Christ, here to receive, and here to glorify; trust it is The Christ who is here for you, to bless you to be a blessing, in prayer and promise to restore us, to listen to us, to grant us grace upon grace!
1. Who is the Pharisee in each of us here for?
II Timothy 4:8; Luke 18:9,11-12,14
A. We know when like the Pharisee, when we are here for self!
B. The grace of God tells us even the self righteous in each of us is invited to know the Righteous One is here for us, too.
2. Who is the tax collector in each of us here for?
Jeremiah14:7; II Timothy 4:17; Luke 18:13-14
A. The broken are invited to trust the Restoring One is here for us, too.
B. The fearful are invited to trust the Courageous One is here for us, too.
3. Who is The Christ here for? Trust The Christ is here, completely here, truly here, for you, to bless you to be a blessing, to calm you, to assure you, to restore you, to save you, to give you grace upon grace!
Jeremiah 14:9,22; II Timothy 4:7; Luke 18:9,14
A. Christ is here for those who are too afraid to really be here.
B. Christ is here for all who are truly and genuinely and honestly here, and for those who do not know how to be here.
C. Christ is truly here, really here, completely here, graciously here for you, giving you grace upon grace!

Song Anew In True Grace
There Is None Like You
LeBlanc
refrain:
There is none like You
No one else can touch my heart
Like You do
I could search for all eternity long
And find
There is none like You
(repeat)
vs. 1
Your mercy flows
Like a river wide
And healing comes
From Your hands
Suffering children
Are safe in Your arms
There is none
Like You
(refrain)
...as we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Bless us to be a blessing, in your power and hope and grace.
All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.
In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.
The Words of Institution
In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Shout to the Lord

My Jesus
My Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My Comfort
My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let ev’ry breath
All that I am
Never cease to worship You
Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound
Of Your name
I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You
Forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You
Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound
Of Your name
I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You
Forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You
The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace, this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.
Let us pray.
Almighty God, you gave your Son both as a sacrifice for sin and a model of the godly life. Enable us to receive him always with thanksgiving, and to conform our lives to his, through Jesus Christ, the Lord of life. Amen.
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you trust you are blessed to be a blessing in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, and serving the Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!
