Opening Song in The Spirit

Open the Eyes of My Heart

Baloche

Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see you
To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy holy holy

(repeat)

Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
I want to see You

(repeat)

Today we celebrate and trust anew, the One who opens the eyes of our hearts, the One who is holy, blesses us to take a deep fresh breath to see all of God’s grace, so we worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.

Amen. I rejoice in you, Lord. You have drawn me up, giving me breath and life, that I might be complete and made new again. I cried to you for help, and you have touched me and healed me.

People of God: The Lord of life is the only one who can restore our very souls. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins, and those times we have failed to trust the Lord is right in front of us; to see, Jesus, our Lord, and, to call on his name.

(silence for reflection)

Friends in Christ: The Lord has made you complete. Take a breath in the hope of these words: Jesus will remove all your demons. In grace, Jesus saves, Jesus forgives you all your sins. Look anew, believe anew, live anew, thanks to the One who is here in plain view!

Song of Grace & Faith Anew

Jesus, My Lord

Lamb/Fischer

refrain:
Have you seen Jesus my Lord
He’s here in plain view
Take a look open your eyes
He’ll show it to you

Let me not be silent. Let me sing praises to the Lord, and give thanks for his holy name. By your favor, Lord, I see anew; I can breathe again. You have made me a strong mountain. You are my hope.

Friends of Jesus: Live anew in The One who helps us see what is here in plain view, the One who is right in front of us. The Lord hears our every cry. Take a fresh breath, breathe once again! See anew, the One who forever opens our eyes and our hearts!

Song of Grace & Faith Anew

Jesus, My Lord

Lamb/Fischer

refrain:
Have you seen Jesus my Lord
He’s here in plain view
Take a look open your eyes
He’ll show it to you

Almighty and loving God, you bless us with strength, healing and hope to see your glory and your grace, here in plain view, right in front of us. Give us faith to breathe again, to leave our demons aside, to live anew, to make you and our neighbors first. By your Holy Spirit, help us grow in discipleship, commitment, and compassion, and to believe anew in you alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

New Testament Lesson

Galatians 3:23-29

Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law, until faith would be revealed. Therefore, the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian, for in Christ Jesus we are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.

(New Revised Standard Version)

Song of Grace & Hope Anew

There is None Like You

LeBlanc

refrain:
There is none like You
No one else can touch my heart
Like You do
I could search for all eternity long
And find
There is none like You

(repeat)

vs. 1
Your mercy flows like a river wide
And healing comes from Your hand
Suffering children are safe in Your arms
There is none like You

(refrain with repeat)

Gospel

Luke 8:26-39

Then they arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. As he stepped out on land, a man of the city who had demons met him. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he did not live in a house but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him and shouted at the top of his voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me” – for Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many times it had seized him; he was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the wilds.) Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion”; for many demons had entered him. They begged him not to order them to go back into the abyss. Now there on the hillside a large herd of swine was feeding; and the demons begged Jesus to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. When the swineherds saw what had happened, they ran off and told it in the city and in the country. Then people came out to see what had happened, and when they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. Those who had seen it told them how the one who had been possessed by demons had been healed. Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them; for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the city how much Jesus had done for him.

(New Revised Standard Version)

As we hear God’s Word, let us take a fresh breath, and boldly speak of all we believe, trusting God’s power and grace in Jesus Christ.

All: I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the sky can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, great and awesome above all that are around him? O Lord, God of hosts, who is as mighty as you? Blessed be the Lord forever. Amen and Amen.

…See God’s Grace

GALATIANS 3:23-29; LUKE 8:26-39

How often do we look for things we lose or need, only to find them right in front of us?  Sometimes, we do not to see it all right in front of us.  We get side-tracked by other priorities, desires, temptations, distractions, or demons, and we do not see clearly.  Unfortunately, we often see more clearly what is in front of someone else, perhaps someone we love, before we recognize and realize what is in front of us.   Today, we read from Luke, the story of Jesus calling the demons out of a man.  The Jewish people of the day, had a hard time recognizing Jesus for who he was, the Son of God.  The demons on the other hand, knew exactly who Jesus was.  Even the Gentiles, the outsiders, see it all, recognizing and realizing all Jesus is.  Today we are invited to take a breath in grace and see all Christ is for us.  Let us take a breath and celebrate as we see it all - the promise, presence and power of Jesus Christ - right in front of us!

“By the grace and power of The Holy Spirit, we will see right in front of us every blessing each day Jesus Christ is revealing in our presence.”

1. Do we recognize the demons in our life?
Galatians 3:23; Luke 8:27,29,37

A. Satan and demons are different, and must be seen differently.

B. Demons are a nuisance, pesky, dangerous.  They quietly infiltrate.

i. What are some of your demons?  Fear?  Safety?  Comfort Excuses?  Security?  Doubt?  Limiting our faith?  Others?

ii. What are some demons for Lord of Life?  Are they any different?

C. See it all!  Expect to be changed!  There is not a demon in front of us who cannot be beaten by the One who is right in front of us!  If we ask The Christ to beat them - they have no chance!

2. Do we see it all, do we really see Jesus in our midst?
Galatians 3:25; Luke 8:28-29,34

A. Today, those again on the outside, the demons and the Gentiles, see all Jesus is: The Son of God!

B. God sees and recognizes us.  Do we recognize this gift of grace?

3. As we take a breath, let us see it all, all Jesus provides!
Galatians 3:23-24,26; Luke 8:34,39

A. Let Christ help you see it all; your heart to see and to realize the promise of the gift; the grace part - right in front of you.

B. Let Christ help you see it all; your heart to see, and to realize his presence; the real part, the here and now part – right in front of you.

C. Let Christ help you see it all; your heart to see and to realize the power part.  No matter how alone, the number of questions, the doubt in the search, the demons in your way - trust you are not alone, The Christ is right in front of you!

4. Take a breath today, a deep breath in grace, for the good news is Jesus is right in front ofus!  Jesus sees it all - all we are and what our needs are.  Jesus and The Spirit will help us see right in front of us.  Let us search no further to recognize and realize Who forever sees us first!
Galatians 3:25,28-29; Luke 8:29, 39

Song of Grace & Hope

Lord, I Need You

Maher

vs. 1
Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart

refrain:
Lord I need You oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You

vs. 2
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

(refrain)

You’re my one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You

...as we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Breathe on us anew your saving grace.

All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.

In order to better serve you in this troubling times, the way we receive Communion has changed slightly. You will be offered a self-contained Communion serving. Each capsule has two layers. The first layer is a thin, clear, cellophane layer which reveals the host. Under the second layer you will find the alcohol free juice. Volunteers will be happy to take you waste after you receive Communion.

The Words of Institution

In the night in which he was betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat, this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Song During Holy Communion

People Need The Lord

Nelson, McHugh

vs. 1
Ev’ryday they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care
Headed who knows where
On they go through private pain
Living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cries
Only Jesus hears

refrain:
People need the Lord
People need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams
He’s the open door
People need the Lord
People need the Lord
When will we realize
People need the Lord

vs. 2
We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost for sharing life
With one who’s lost
His love our hearts
Can feel all the grief they bear
They must hear the words
Of life only we can share

(refrain)

People need the Lord

The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace, this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.

Let us pray.
Pour out upon us the spirit of your love, O Lord, and unite the wills of those whom you have fed with one heavenly food; through Jesus Christ, The Lord of life. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you take each breath, each deep fresh breath, in the living grace of Jesus Christ. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, and serving the Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!

Going Anew In Grace

Old Church

Williams

vs 1
There’s revival
And it’s spreading
Like a wildfire in my heart
A Sunday morning
“Hallelujah”
And it’s lasting all week long
Can you hear it
Can you feel it
It’s the rhythm of a gospel song
Oh once you choose it
You can’t lose it
‘Cause there ain’t nothing there
Ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy

refrain:
I’ve got an old church choir singing in my soul
I’ve got a sweet salvation and it’s beautiful
I’ve got a heart overflowing ‘cause I’ve been restored
There ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy
No there ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy

vs. 2
When the valleys
That I wander
Turn to mountains that I can’t climb
Oh You are with me
Never leave me
‘Cause there ain’t nothing
There ain’t nothing
Gonna steal my joy

(refrain)

bridge:
Clap your hands and stomp your feet
‘Til you find that gospel beat
‘Cause He’s all you’ll ever need
All you’ll ever need

(repeat)

I’ve got an old church choir singing in my soul
I’ve got a sweet salvation and it’s beautiful

(refrain)

Oh there ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy
