Gathering in Thanks & Praise
We Gather Together
Valerius
vs. 1
We gather together
To ask the Lord’s blessing
He chastens and hastens
His will to make known
The wicked oppressing
Now cease from distressing
Sing praises to his name
He forgets not his own
vs. 3
We all do extol thee
Thou leader triumphant
And pray that thou still
Our defender wilt be
Let thy congregation
Escape tribulation
Thy name be ever praised
O Lord make us free
Litany Giving Thanks for God’s Faithfulness, Blessings, and Grace
Today we celebrate, we give God all thanks and praise, for all good gifts around us, every sign of love, is sent from heaven above, so we gather together to worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. I give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart. I give thanks to you alone for your steadfast love and faithfulness.
People of God: Jesus knows our transgressions. Our sins are ever before him. Against Jesus alone have we sinned, still the Lord is good, his steadfast love and mercy endure forever. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and the times we have not given thanks and praise to the Lord’s majestic name.
(silence for reflection)
Friends in Christ, trust the Lord’s majesty in every gift of glory and grace in these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Come, you thankful people, come; give thanks, God has created in us a clean heart, putting in us a new and right spirit!
Song of Praise

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come into His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, we are His. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with joyful praise!

God of glory Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before thee
Praising thee their sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the gloom of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day
Give thanks to the Lord, make known His deeds. Sing praises to Him! Tell of His majestic signs of love!
Announce and sing: Praise to the Lord the Almighty!

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. You set your glory above the heavens. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars and all you have established, who are we that you are mindful of us?
O give thanks to the Lord for he is good! Now thank we all our God!

And still is ours today
I love you, Lord! You are my strength, my rock! I call upon the Lord and I am saved! You alone are worthy of my praise!
Friends, let us share this week, let us share each day, let us hold fast all our days for all eternity, thanks to God’s faithfulness and grace! Trust we forever go forth in God’s blessing!

Sent Forth By God’s Blessing
Westendorf
vs. 1
Sent forth by God’s blessing
Our true faith confessing
The people of God from
His dwelling take leave
The supper is ended
Oh now be extended
The fruits of this service
In all who believe
The seed of his teaching
Receptive souls reaching
Shall blossom in action
For God and for all
His grace did invite us
His love shall unite us
To work for God’s kingdom
And answer his call
Prayer Of Thanksgiving

As we gather together, as we go into the world, we have more than ten thousand reasons to give you thanks and praise for your glory and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray with thankful hearts. Amen.
Children are invited to return to their seats with their family and friends.

Gospel
Matthew 14:13-21
Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. When he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them and cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is now late; send the crowds away that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” Jesus said to them, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They replied, “We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish.” And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And all ate and were filled; and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
(New Revised Standard Version)
Hebrews 11:12-2
God has blessed God’s people with faith from the beginning of time. Long ago witnesses boldly proclaimed The Perfect Sign of Love in Jesus’ grace was sufficient for the Hebrew Christians considering returning to Judaism. Let us share our faith using these same words.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible. ...Without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ...Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. Amen.

We Plow the Fields
Tebelak/Schwartz
(leaders on vs., all on ref:)
vs.1
We plow the fields and scatter
The good seed on the land
But it is fed and watered
By God’s almighty hand
He sends the snow in winter
The warmth to swell the grain
The breezes and the sunshine
And soft refreshing rain
refrain:
All good gifts around us
Are sent from heaven above
So thank the Lord O thank the Lord
For all his love
vs.2
We thank thee then O Father
For all things bright and good=
The seed-time and the harvest
Our life our health our food
No gifts have we to offer
For all thy love imparts
But that which thou desirest
Our humble thankful hearts
refrain 2:
All good gifts around us
Are sent from heaven above
So thank the Lord O thank the Lord
For all his love
I really want to thank you Lord
...as we pray to you, Jesus,
We give you, gracious God, all our thanks and praise, for every sign of your love and grace.
All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

vs. 3
We come to the hungry feast
Hungry that the hunger cease
And knowing though we eat our fill
The hunger will stay with us still
We come we come
To the hungry feast
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears

And crown thy good
