The King shall come
When morning dawns
And light triumphant breaks
When beauty gilds
The eastern hills
And life to joy awakes.

In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: “The Lord is our righteousness.”
— Jeremiah 33:15-16

Do you know any prophets?

When we think of prophets we often limit ourselves to fortune tellers, those who predict the future, and those who have inside information.

Prophets are simply people who tell others what God is doing, and that God is God!

We often think prophets are only those who know what God will do.

Prophets simply tell others what God has already done, and what God has told them to tell others.

How did you come know about Jesus? Who was your prophet?

How is God helping you, to let every heart prepare Him room; and whose prophet is God asking you to be?

While we wait for Jesus to return, who do you know who cannot wait to know Jesus?

Long ago, God gave words to the prophets to announce the King shall come.

This Advent season, trust God will help you announce, "The Lord is our righteousness." The world is hungering for faithful prophets in a world full of false prophets. This Advent, this Christmas, every day while we wait for the King to come so heaven and nature sing, may the Holy Spirit bless each of us to tell the fortune we have in Christ, to announce the future as predicted in God's grace, and to tell others inside information we have first-hand from the righteous Branch.

Let us pray: Loving God, our heart does not always prepare you room, and we are not always sure if we are good enough to be your prophets. While we wait for Jesus' return, please keep sending your prophets and your messengers to us to keep us strong. We also ask you to increase is us the gift of faith to be your prophets and messengers to announce, to join heaven and nature as we sing, The King who has come, shall one day come again. Amen.
