There’s nothing worth more
That will ever come close.
No thing can compare;
You’re our living hope.
Your Presence, Lord.

I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves,
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
In Your Presence, Lord.

Holy Spirit,
You are welcome here;
Come flood this place
And fill the atmosphere;
Your glory, God,
Is what our hearts long for,
To be overcome
By Your presence, Lord.
Your presence, Lord.

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them, Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Then Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, “This is my Son, the beloved; listen to him!” Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more, but only Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus ordered them to tell no one about what they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
— Mark 9:2-9

We live in an age of makeovers. To change how something looks is becoming easier. We are told in many cases, `with a little help, anyone can do it.’

Changing what something is, not just how it looks, may not be so easy.

As we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, the transfiguration of our Lord, we are invited to see as Jesus is transformed on the mountain, what we treasure is being changed.

Who we are is changed and made-over.
What we treasure is changed.
The Savior we worship is changed.
The treasure God provides is changed.
There’s nothing worth more.
Nothing will ever come close.
No thing can compare.
Holy Spirit you are welcome here.
You flood this place, and fill the atmosphere.
Your presence, Lord, changes everything!
You and your glory and grace, are truly what our hearts long for!

As Epiphany comes to a close, as Lent begins this week, trust Jesus Christ, The Bright New Change, changed to change you; you have all you will ever need in The Bright New Light of God’s grace!

Let us pray: Almighty and loving God, on the mountain, in the transfiguration of your Son, you showed your glory. In our ever-changing world, give me the faith to see your light endures, shining bright and sure. Send me The Bright New Light, and by your Holy Spirit, by your presence here, in my life, give me a make over, as you flood my every place and fill my atmosphere. Transform me and my life and spirit, to make you and my neighbors first. As I trust each new morning is only the beginning to so much more, change my outlook, my spirit, my purpose, my devotion, my worship, your Church, as you renew me and the face the earth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
