Listen to your children praying,

Send your Spirit in this place;
Lord,
Listen to your children praying,
Send us love,
Send us power,
Send us grace.
““Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say - ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.””
Do you have someone you can talk to? Who will listen? Who will listen and not jump in? Who will listen and not cut you off? Who will listen and not draw their own conclusions? Who will listen, just listen, to your needs, wants, passions, concerns, disappointments, dreams, faith, trust?
Even Jesus got troubled. Even Jesus needed to know he was not alone. Jesus needed to know he could call on the Father to listen. The Father listened. The Father was faithful, then spoke.
What did yesterday's Bible verse say? "I will be their God and they shall be my people."
Like Jesus, we can call on the Father, too! We are his children! We are his people! God is our God, listening to us at this and every hour, faithfully then speaking to us, sending us love, sending us power, sending us God's grace alone in Jesus Christ!
Let us pray: Jesus, today I come to you as your child, I come praying, and I ask you to assure me that you are listening. By your Holy Spirit, I trust you come to me and your name is glorified as I cry out to you, and as you listen to me. I glorify you and praise you for listening to my every prayer, for knowing my every need, for saving me by sending me your love, your power, and your grace alone. In Jesus name, I trust you listen whenever I pray. Amen.
