Gathering In The Spirit

Blessed Be Your Name

Redman

vs. 1
Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

vs. 2
Blessed be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name

Ev’ry blessing You pour out I’ll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in Lord
Still I will say

(refrain)

refrain:
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

bridge:
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name

(repeat bridge and then refrain)

Litany Trusting The Gentle Breeze of The Spirit and God’s Grace

Based on Psalm 30

Today we sing and trust anew, blessed be the name of the Lord, who blesses us to be faithful laborers and to go as we are sent, thanks to gentle breezes, all with God’s grace, so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.

Amen. I rejoice in you, Lord. You have drawn me up, that I might be complete and made new again. I cried to you for help, and you have touched me and healed me, to send me out again.

People of God: The Lord of life is the only One who can restore our very souls. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins, and those times we have failed to trust God’s grace is plentiful.

(silence for reflection)

Friends in Christ: The Lord has spoken and made you complete, that you might get up and try again. Feel the gentle breeze of God’s grace in these words: Jesus saves, Jesus forgives you all your sins. All who are thirsty, come to the One who comes to you first; for his anger is for a moment, but his favor and mercy are abundant and plentiful; they last a lifetime, and for all eternity.

Song of Grace Anew

All Who Are Thirsty

Brown

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be wash’d away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep
We sing

Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come

Let me not be silent. Let me sing praises to the Lord, and give thanks for his holy name. By your favor, O Lord, you have spoken and made me as strong as a mountain. You are my hope.

Friends of Jesus: All who are thirsty, come to the One who calls us, transforms us, entrusts much to us. The Lord hears you when you cry out to him. Give thanks; listen to the One who comes to you first; his goodness and glory and grace are plentiful for one and all!

Song of Grace Anew

All Who Are Thirsty

Brown

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be wash’d away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep
We sing

Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come

Almighty and loving God, you move in our midst like a gentle breeze, all with your grace, filling us with strength, healing and hope. We are so very thirsty; come to us, fill us, renew us; your grace and mercy are so plentiful. As you make ready the harvest, as you call us to be faithful laborers, give us faith to go where you send us, to glorify you as we grow in discipleship and compassion to make God and our neighbor first. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Old Testament Lesson

Exodus 19:2-8a

They had journeyed from Rephidim, entered the wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness; Israel camped there in front of the mountain. Then Moses went up to God; the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the Israelites: You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites.” So Moses came, summoned the elders of the people, and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him. The people all answered as one: “Everything that the Lord has spoken we will do.”

(New Revised Standard Version)

New Testament Lesson

Romans 5:1-8

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.  For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person – though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.

Song of Calling & Grace

Be Thou My Vision

Byrne

vs. 1
Be thou my vision
O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me
Save that thou art
Thou my best thought
By day and by night
Waking or sleeping
Thy presence my light

vs. 2
Be thou my wisdom
And thou my true word
I ever with thee
And thou with me Lord
Thou my soul’s shelter
Thou my high tow’r
Raise thou me heav’nward
O Pow’r of my pow’r

Gospel

Matthew 9:35-10:8

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness. These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed him.

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Go nowhere among the Gentiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment.”

(New Revised Standard Version)

based on Psalm 89

As we share gentle breezes of The Spirit this summer, let us share our faith and speak boldly of all we believe, trusting the living breath of The Spirit and God’s saving grace.

I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the sky can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, great and awesome above all that are around him? O Lord, God of hosts, who is as mighty as you? Blessed be the Lord forever. Amen and Amen.

A Gentle Breeze, All With God’s Grace!

EXODUS 19:2-8A; ROMANS 5:1-8; MATTHEW 9:35-10:8

Have you ever been asked to do something exciting, scary?  Something with potential, you know little about?  Have you ever been asked to be a part of something that could make the difference in the lives of others?  Maybe it was only going to change the life of one or two?  Jesus tells us, `The harvest is plentiful.  The laborers are few.’  Do you hear Jesus calling you to be a part of something exciting, a little scary, with great potential, life changing, to make the difference, even in the life of one or two others, or perhaps many more?  Do you hear Jesus calling us all, to answer this call?  We do not have to go alone!  Do you also hear the promise: the hard work is already done, the gentle breeze that was, still is, and continues, all with God’s grace!  The harvest is plentiful!  Thanks be to God!  The laborers are few!  So we answer the call of the One who forever faithfully labors to save us, transform us, send us, all with God’s grace!

1. Jesus invites us all to hear the harvest is plentiful, it is ready! Thanks be to God!  Feel the gentle breeze, abundant promises are kept, all with God’s grace!
Exodus 19:4; Romans 5:1; Matthew 9:37

A. The harvest is plentiful!  There is plenty of God’s grace in you!

B. We are not in charge of the harvest!  Life breaks forth with grace!

C. You are a blessed, trusted, celebrated part of the harvest!  By The Spirit, live; know new life is plentiful in Christ!

D. Feel the gentle breeze, live abundantly, God’s grace is plentiful in you!

2. Do you feel the gentle breeze of the call to labor?  There is plenty to do, we go not alone, so let us, all with God’s grace, serve the harvest God has made plentiful!
Exodus 19:7-8; Romans 5:2-5; Matthew 9:37-38, 10:2-8

A. Feel the gentle breeze of the Laborer in our midst, calling us, gracing us, blessing us, to be disciples, students, believers, laborers, God’s Church, all with God’s grace!

B. There is plenty to do, all with God’s grace!

C. There is plenty we are equipped to do, all with God’s grace!

D. There are plenty to serve, all with God’s grace!

E. We are sent: Sent, Spirit-Led; Empowered, Spirit-Powered:
Nurtured/Nourished, Spirit-Filled; To go do, Spirit-Driven!

F. There is One who laborers beside us, on our behalf, who is truly faithful, all with God’s grace!

3. Feel the gentle breeze of the One who comes near; live anew for the gentle breeze that was, still is, continues, and forever will be; trust anew the gentle breeze of this truth: The greatest labor is complete, thanks to the faithful Laborer!  Though there is much we are asked to do and equipped to do, though there are many we are asked to go to, though the labor may not be easy at times, the hard work is already done, the harvest has been made plentiful!  Every hour is God’s hour!  Every one is God’s one, to give compassion, to serve, to honor, to reveal Christ to, thanks to the One who is forever faithful, all with God’s grace!

Song Filled With Abundant Grace

Here I Am, Lord

Schutte

I the Lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them
Whom shall I send

refrain:
Here I am Lord
Is it I Lord
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go Lord
If you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart

I the Lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide
‘Til their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send

(refrain)

...as we pray to you, Jesus, ...
Let us feel the gentle breeze of your Spirit and your grace.

All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy Communion will take place during our service. If you are not worshipping with us in person but would like to receive Communion, we will be offering Drive Through Communion at our building at 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, Minnesota, following our indoor service. Drive Through Communion will be available between 10:15am & 10:30am.

For those worshiping with us in person, we receive communion through intinction; that is, you will receive the bread, the host, then dip into the glass of choice, either a red wine in the chalice closest to the host, or in a light colored non-alcoholic grape juice. All are welcome.

We also offer gluten free and pre-packaged options. Please take these options before arriving at the host to receive a blessing.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.

Going Anew In Power & Grace

Shout to The Lord

Zschech

My Jesus
My Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My Comfort
My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let ev’ry breath
All that I am
Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound
Of Your name
I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love
You forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You

Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roarA
At the sound
Of Your name
I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You
Forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have in
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You
