God forgave my sin in Jesus' name
I've been born again in Jesus' name
And in Jesus' name I come to you
To share his love as he told me to
He said "Freely, freely
You have received
Freely freely give
Go, in my name
And because you believe
Others will know that I live."
“Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us.”
Have you ever seen someone, and thought you knew them? Upon a closer look; that is, as you get closer, you see it is not who you thought it was.
As people come closer and closer to you, do they see The One you are imitating in The Spirit, The One who is keeping his heart on you, The One who has freely, freely, given to you, so others know He lives?
Paul was convinced he clearly knew God and God's way of doing things. He thought he was at peace. Upon a closer look, Jesus came to Paul in a brilliant light. Now Paul knew peace. Paul peacefully proclaimed Christ's name, even from prison.
As others take a closer look at us, may they make no mistake, may they see us living by Christ's example, imitating Paul, keeping our heart on God's grace alone: God forgave our sin in Jesus' name, we've been born again, in Jesus' name. Let us share his love, as he told us to.
Let us pray: Jesus, come closer and closer to me, and freely and freely take away all that does not honor you or imitate you. Fill me with Your Spirit, send me forward by Your example, to go in the peace of your name, blessed by your grace, so others make no mistake, and know that you live. In your name, I come closer to you than ever before, as I pray. Amen.
