Worthy, You are worthy,
King of kings, Lord of lords,
You are worthy;
Worthy, You are worthy,
King of kings, Lord of lords,
I worship You.

Yet even now, says The Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your clothing.
— Joel 2:12

Have you ever missed a bus? A connecting flight? Have you ever been late for a meeting? Have you ever arrived at church so late, you ask yourself, "Why bother?" Have you ever wondered if it was "too late" to have your heart renewed, "too late" to return to The Lord?

The prophet Joel announces the day of The Lord is coming, it is time to change your ways, the way you have been living is wrong; and yet, Joel writes, "Yet, even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart ...."

God's grace is timeless. Another bus is here, named Lent. Another plane just pulled into the gate, going to the same place, The Christ. Another meeting is about to gather, God's people. Another gift is about to be given, about to be opened, God's grace!  It is never too late to worship The One who keeps his heart on us, The One who is forever worthy, in the grace of Christ alone! Yet even now, keep your heart on, return with all your heart to, The One who by God's grace forever has his heart on you: Christ alone!

Let us pray: Lord today I tell you, my heart is often elsewhere, my heart can get in the way of making you first. Here it is, only the second day of Lent, and I continue to miss so much along the way. I thank you and praise you and glorify you, you are always there in grace; you are forever worthy. By your Holy Spirit reveal to me again today and throughout my Lenten journey, it is never too late to return to you with all my heart. In your love, yet even now, I keep my heart on you, and I pray. Amen.
