My faith looks up to thee
Thou Lamb of Calvary
Savior divine
Now hear me while I pray
Take all my guilt away
Oh let me from this day
Be wholly thine

The manna ceased on the day they ate the produce of the land, and the Israelites no longer had manna; they ate the crops of the land of Canaan that year.
— Joshua 5:12

What do you hold onto? God's people had been led out of slavery, and they were holding onto the day-to-day worries. God sent them manna while they wandered in the wilderness. He fed them every day for forty years. Still they struggled to keep their hearts on The One who was keeping his heart on them. God's people had to let go, to look to God alone, and to feed on God alone.

We hold onto day to day worries, too. We are blessed with a very rich and deep faith, and still we keep our hearts on other things, we hold onto other things. Why do we do that? Is not the Lamb of Calvary, our Savior divine, enough for us? By God's grace, may we sing and let our faith look up to thee, to the cross, to the heavens, to Jesus who died and rose again, to Jesus who will come again, to Christ alone!

Let us pray: Jesus, today, I confess at times it is easier to hold onto the things of this world, and I do not look up to thee, Savior divine. By your Holy Spirit, keep your heart on me, feed me with your grace alone again today. With your compassionate heart, fill my spirit, keep my heart on you, so my faith will forever look up to thee. In your name, I let go as I trust and pray to you alone. Amen.
