No more let sin and sorrow grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found
Far as the curse is found
Far as far as
The curse is found
“He went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins . . . ”
Do you have guests coming this Christmas?
Maybe you have one of those homes where everything is always clean and everything is always in its place. To be so organized and so clean, would be an answer to a little prayer!
John The Baptist came proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Getting ready for Christmas, getting ready for Christ, means getting things cleaned up. As we bring him all our dirt and sin, we see in grace: "No more let sin and sorrow and grow ... far as the curse is found!"
Do not be afraid to welcome Jesus into your home and heart this year! In the waters of Holy Baptism, in God's grace, in Jesus Christ; the cleaning has been done. Indeed joy has come to the world, He has come, His blessings flow, and heaven and nature sing!
Let us pray: God of grace and mercy, today I confess to you, there are things not in their proper place, and I cannot clean up my life by myself. I bring my sin and dirt to you. I long for the day sin no longer grows, for the day thorns no longer infest the ground I walk. In repentance, come and be my guest in my heart and home, in my spiritual walk, wherever, and as far, as the curse is found. Clean me beyond expectation and imagination. I pray your blessings flow like never before this Advent and Christmas as I get ready for you and your promised return. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
