Join us on Palm Sunday as we enter Holy Week with “Passionate Hearts!” In Luke 23:1-49, we witness the dramatic shift from Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem with shouts of Hosanna to the unfolding of His passion, suffering, and crucifixion. As we walk this sacred journey, we are reminded that Christ’s passionate heart remains steadfast in love and mercy, even in the face of suffering.

What to Expect:

  • Palm Procession: A time to remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

Maundy Thursday – April 17, 2025

Theme: “Loving Hearts!”
Service at 7:00 p.m.

Join us on Maundy Thursday as we reflect on “Loving Hearts!” and the depth of Christ’s love. In John 13:1-17, 31b-35, Jesus shares the Last Supper, washes His disciples’ feet, and gives the commandment to “love one another as I have loved you.” As we enter this sacred night, we are reminded that Christ’s heart is set on us, washing us, feeding us, and filling us with His grace.

What to Expect:

  • Scripture Reflection:

    • John 13:1-17, 31b-35 – Jesus demonstrates servant love and calls us to do the same.

  • Holy Communion: Sharing in the meal Christ first gave to His disciples.

  • First Communion: Tonight we also celebrate and pray God’s blessing on these fellow believers who share their First Communion and come to The Lord’s Table in a new, complete, and blessed way!

  • Foot Washing: A reminder of Christ’s humble service and love.

  • Message from Pastor Jamie: A reflection on how we are first loved by the One who calls us to love others.

  • Stripping of the Altar: Our service concludes with the dramatic and solemn stripping of the altar in preparation for Good Friday.

In John 18:1-19:42, we remember Jesus’ crucifixion through a solemn service of readings, prayers, and silence. As we return to the One who is gracious and merciful, we receive hope and assurance in God’s faithfulness. On this sacred night, we stand at the foot of the cross, watching the Lamb, trusting in the gift of salvation, and remembering the One who forever keeps His heart on us.

  • Traditional Good Friday Worship: A service of readings, prayer, and reflection in silence.

In John 20:1-18, the empty tomb is revealed, the disciples begin to believe, and Mary is called by name—her heart awakened to the new life in Christ. As we gather in worship, we rejoice in the One who is gracious and merciful, the One who raises us up each day, giving us hearts that are alive, anew, and awakened in His saving grace!

Easter Sunday, March 31 – “Alive & Anew, In Grace Alone!”

Join us on Easter Sunday, March 31st, as we celebrate the joyous occasion of Christ's resurrection with the theme "Alive & Anew, In Grace Alone!" We will gather to rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as recounted in John 20:1-18.

In this passage, we proclaim with gladness, 'Jesus is risen and risen indeed! Alleluia!' The disciples believe, Mary is greeted and called by name, giving new life, and we are alive in The Risen Christ! As we return to The One who is gracious and merciful, with all our hearts, we are alive and saved anew in grace alone!

This special Easter service will include the Easter announcement, festive songs of praise, and a time of fellowship as we rejoice together in the victory of Christ over sin and death.

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate the resurrection and the new life we have in Christ, experiencing the boundless grace and love of our risen Savior.

Good Friday, March 29 – “Saved In Grace Alone!”

Join us on Good Friday, March 29th, at 7 p.m. for a poignant worship service centered around the theme "Saved In Grace Alone!" as we observe this solemn day in Holy Week. We will reflect on the profound message of John 18:1-19:42.

In this traditional service, we will remember Jesus' crucifixion through readings, prayers, and moments of silence. As we return to The One who is gracious and merciful, with all our hearts, we receive hope and assurance, thanks to God’s faithfulness. Together, we 'watch The Lamb,' experiencing new life and salvation anew in grace alone!

This moving service will guide us through the seven last words of Christ, incorporating readings, candlelight, special music, prayer, and moments of reflection. It's an opportunity to draw closer to the heart of Christ and meditate on the immense love and sacrifice demonstrated on the cross.

Join us on Maundy Thursday, March 28th, at 7 p.m. for a special worship service centered around the theme "Loved In Grace Alone!" as we observe this sacred day in Holy Week. We will reflect on the profound message of John 13:1-17, 31b-35.

In this passage, Jesus shares the last supper with His disciples, washes their feet, and gives them a new commandment: 'love one another as I have loved you.' As we return to The One who is gracious and merciful, with all our hearts, we are called to love one another as we are first loved by The One who blesses us, experiencing new life and salvation anew in grace alone!

This service will also include the first communion of this year's first communion students. They will receive their first communion during tonight's service, just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples in the reading of tonight's gospel, symbolizing humility, service, and the sacrificial love of Christ.

Join us this Good Friday evening as we come together to remember and reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. We will be holding a special worship service where we will be focusing on Jesus' last words, silence, prayer and reflection.

During this service, we will be reflecting on Jesus' last words and what they mean for us today. Our Lenten theme “Seven Words: Simple, Powerful, Renewing Words in Christ Alone” concludes as we continue through Holy Week. We will be exploring the themes of forgiveness, love, and sacrifice, and how we can apply these lessons to our own lives.

At Lord of Life, we recognize that Jesus' message of love and compassion extends to all people, regardless of their background or beliefs. We strive to create a welcoming and accepting community where everyone can feel valued and supported.
